> 2014 / stoneware bowl / Studio Arhoj

Hand-thrown bowls in different kinds of stoneware clay - glazed inside with a wide assortment of high temperature glazes.

The chawan shape is based on a traditional Japanese tea bowl dating back hundreds of years. The chawan was used for the refined and elegant tea ceremony. Guests were expected to admire the bowl and the simple beauty of the materials.

The less perfect it appears, the more honest an object it is.

All bowls are handmade and hand-glazed which results in each bowl being unique.
